.338 Bullets and the Real Part of Hunt

To some up moose hunting, 5 min of pleasure and fun, 5 days of process meat, and hard work! Theres really nothing exciting about 5 days of meat processing other than what we found.  Three, .338   bullets. Crazy. Made the grinder almost explode each time. And I was going to use my .243.  Next year I am thinking .375. Ruger Is that over kill  I am not sure, but this maybe the only state where you can get away with it easily. On second thought its not over kill.  Here is another reason for a .375, I was following some grizzly tracks and I realized as I was completely surrounded by thick willow. I thought this is crazy, is a few shoots from a .243 really going to do any good if a big old bear wants me for dinner?   Lets put it this way when I am on the couch or in the gym its easy to act tuff. But when you shoot a griz or are trailing one into the thick bush being tuff takes on a whole new meaning.
